Money for the hobby was scarce, especially with 2 kids, so we learned to make things. The aftermarket back then didn't have all the bolt on "Stuff". So if you wanted a pinto mustang front suspension, you had to cut one out in a junk yard. In fact the junk yard had become your second home. If you were lucky the guy would let you help him for the parts you wanted, Hurst was the first Guy that came out with a kit to put an Olds in a ford. For a 100 bucks you could put a monster 303 ci engine in your ford. Caddy even had a bigger engine. The Flathead was dead???
