Default Horns, Screws and Lockwashers ???

Just trying to figure out stuff.

In the process of putting together a Stewart Warner horn.

The screws holding the 3 parts together had lock washers on the one I took apart and the other did not have lock washers but I am pretty sure it had been apart.

The other horns I have are Sparton. The one together has no lockwashers. I also noticed that the Sparton has smaller nuts then the SW nuts (same threads, just different OD).

The reason I ask is the 4 split type lock washers I have are a thinner and slightly smaller OD then the new style I have laying around. I would need 2 more correct lockwashers. Before I go on a hunt for lockwashers I figure I best find out what is correct.

Thanks!

The horn information as to nut sizes and other details is referenced in the Restoration Guidelines & Judging Standards. Some of the parts you need are sold by A&L.

I agree...first check the Restoration/ Judging Standards manual, available from either national club.
Then give a call to A&L Parts Specialities to get what you need.

Also remember that the lockwashers only came on the two bolts that hold the bracket to the horn. the other 4 bolts had no lockwashers.,

That is what I found out also after digging through the 31 parts list. I have seen many restored horns that have them on all 6 bolts. Rod
