1937 Deluxe Pickup Sun Visor

I am in the process of finishing my '37 DeLuxe cab pickup. It has all of the DeLuxe features including sun visors. My question is...has anyone ever replaced the high density cardboard on them? One of mine has the cardboard torn. Staples through the cardboard and a metal base serve as an attachment. I don't know how to reproduce that feat if I take the cardboard off for replacement. Any upholsters out there with a suggestion.
