The above posts have given you pretty good advise.
I would add the following....
Join MAFCA now. They have a free first year membership waiting for you as a new member! That comes with a wonderful magazine thru the year.
Going with club members to check a car out can be a huge value to you.
Be realistic on your skills and talents. If body and paint aren't your thing
hold out for something that doesn't need work there... that is expensive stuff!
And someone just ahead of me just posted his car... be worth a call.
Good luck

Yeah, I'm in no rush. I'd like to find a nice driver quality car. Something mechanically sound. It doesn't have to be perfect, but not a full on project car. I have enough of those already. lol
We just moved from the Banks Oregon area a little over two years ago. We belonged to the Beaver Club which meets in the Oregon City area. Very good large club. Also one of our old neighbors in Banks has an A pickup. Send me a PM and I will see if he may want to get in touch with you.

We have 2 Model A's and still do have them now where we live in Stayton Oregon. Like mentioned above, best to not start the hobby because you can't only have one A. It gets to be a habit to buy more.

I am 6' 2" and drive a 1929 std coupe and fit into it. I moved the seat back a ways but I do fit into it with some effort. Just need to know how to get into it.

The above advice could really lead you astray... There is nothing really wrong with a totally stock model A, or "real" A, but you are in Banks. You will be going some pretty long distances, and a stock A might not be the best choice, if you want to keep up with those beach goers out on rte 26! While some people are true purists, and want no modifications whatever, most seem to want a few upgrades for the type of cruising you would encounter. Such things as an overdrive, a bit more power, perhaps a few safety items like seat belts and turn signals, maybe even 12volts, you will find these upgrades are sought by the majority of people who actually drive their cars on the hiways. Don't let any one persons opinions influence you too much, figure out what your usage will be, and go from there.

One guys idea of a kludged screwed up car might be exactly what you need. My own personal opinion, for example, is that if it doesn't have two tail lights and turn signals, it does not belong on hiway 26.

One thing is for sure. Ask 10 Model A owners what's best for this or that, and you will get 12 answers and a couple maybe's. It's a great hobby.

I would say, the number of answers could be close to 1M.
