I enjoy John LaVoy's magazine. Well worth the price.

Re: Model A Ford Times
Our club subscribes to it, and puts it in the club library. We have complete sets of The Restorer, Model A News, and Model A Times. It gives our members access to articles, tips & hints, and product reviews.
As stated above, it is worth the subscription price.

Re: Model A Ford Times
No more subscription for me. I don't like paying for a subscription when half of the magazine is ads. It had a good start full of articles, but as time went on, it seemed to me that the ads took over the articles.
I understand that a magazine has to make money by selling ads that relate to our hobby, but come on. It's like paying for a movie ticket then forced to watch commericals before the movie begins. I paid to see a movie, not advertisements. |

I like the articles and yes there are ads. However, the ads become a good reference when you need parts or anything Model A related. The magazine is well worth the money.

I did not want to be the first to say it, which is why I sent the PM. I have to agree. I also noticed the majority of the articles were going towards "upgrades" and more often when an item was rated great, exactly how to get it or exactly what questions needed to be asked to get the item reviewed was lacking. Yea, GREAT start but it went in a different direction then my interests. I repeat I'm not saying it is a bad magazine, but just not for me.

Re: Model A Ford Times
I went the same way as in post #11, I am new to this hobby, seems John Levoy as done so much for the model A Ford community, his travels are extensive.

Re: Model A Ford Times
I also bought in on their first issues. They were full of interesting stuff , and some adds. Than they switched around. I dropped my subscription. Maybe they think it's a listing of what you can get , or services for your model A. Although it is interesting to see what's new out there for these cars , why doesn't someone just make a magazine that's just that kind of stuff. Keep everyone happy! That would be something new.

Re: Model A Ford Times
Just another thought here, is it possible that there is just not enough new products coming along to review?, there is only some much material out there --- good things do play out over time.

Re: Model A Ford Times
I also like this publication, because it offers additional information about new products for the Model A, information on Vendors etc. Once a year they give you and Index for that year. I keep a reference binder with all info on each publication. When I have an A problem I go to that reference binder to find where the information is at. Of course this website is another GREAT SOURCE of information.
