Default Speedometer Repair

The round Northeast speedometer in my 31 Tudor seems to show accurate speed, however, the last three numbers on the odometer are rubbed off. Is this a common problem and what are the options to fix ?

Send it to one of the “professionals”. There are several that do good jobs at reasonable prices.

Odometer decals are easily available from most venders, but tricky to install and make look good. It is also a good idea to take odometer assy apart to clean, lube to make sure all is good for the future, same for the rest of the speedometer. Most speedometers die from lack of service, hard grease, lack of lubrication. Let me know if I can be of service.

It really is not that difficult to buy the numbers decal kit and install your own clean looking numbers.

While you're in there you can clean it up the speedo.

I took apart, cleaned and oiled mine myself. Takes time and patience.

My speedometer works but the odometer doesn't, trip or overall. Any ideas what could be wrong? The numbers could be replaced also.

Yes if your speedometer need serviced get it rebuild and set for the next year. It sounds like the bushing has poped out that holds the drive gear in place. The hard grease dose that. I get them back in your hands with in 3 days. let me know if you need help. [email protected]
