Default Back to the scheduled programme. 41pu gets a new fuel gauge.

Reverting to the rolling resto series on the pickup, I fit a cheap fuel gauge and sender. I got this for less than £12 off ebay and I was quite impressed. I cover adapting the unit to the 41 tank, which is similar to most old Fords, and wiring it in. It was a relatively simple job and good bang for the buck re the confidence factor when driving.
I try a new editing technique where the scenes blend together instead of a sudden cut. See what you think. There's a funny out take tacked on the end too.

Watched and liked Mart. I wondered about the ending until you said here what it was.

Mart: when I first saw the computer hard drive in the video I thought you were going to gut it and make a sending unit from the internals.
It could be done there is a swinging arm and enough contacts to fab something up.
In my former life as Director of IT we removed a lot of hard drives from the old computers erased them with some military grade software and threw them away, I should have scrounged some of those covers.

Hey Mart,
I found my nos gauges at cw moss in orange, ca. for my 41 truck. They had oil, amp and temp (I bought the last fuel). It was a few years ago, but they were $25 each.

Nice job Mart. Well done. Just for curiosity sake, pry the top off the OEM sender and see
it's internal condition. Post a photo if possible.
