At long last, I am taking on the task of organizing, labeling, etc. all of the parts I have collected over the years. Most all of the parts are for '34 passenger cars. There are a few items I cannot identify and was hoping for a little help. Most of the items in this particular box were from a guy who was cutting up a '34 pickup, but these may be from something else.

First - a hinge of some sort. Was near a hood center support bracket and windshield frame parts in the box.

The second is a radiator mount plate to frame bracket.

I don't think that #1 is a '34 part, and I agree that the gusset plates in #2 go between the frame side rails and the front cross member and serve as radiator mounts. They are the '34 version; the '33 version do not have the 90 degree back corners, they are angled at the back corners and therefore smaller in overall size. #3 is a pickup side-mounted spare wheel bracket ('33-'34).

The first one Is a piece of the hinge for a windshield regulator, second is radiator mounting frame brackets and third is side mount tire bracket

Michael,

You're right! But, it's for a windshield with a curved cross section which would make it for something other than '33-'34.

David looks like we typed our responses at near the same time! I actually thought that was a passenger car tire bracket at first but then again I really don’t even 100% know what a 33/34 pass car tire bracket loooks like

Normally I could double check, but I lost my desktop to gremlins over the holidays and as result do not have the photos to draw the distinction between the passenger car and commercial vehicle versions.

The sidemount bracket is for a 33/34 pickup RH side.

Fyi,
I was at my shop tonight and that hinge piece appears to be 37-39 in comparison to those I have.

Picture #1 looks to be the windshield crank out/crank in mechanisms hinge bracket that attaches to windshield frame on '35 - '36 Ford closed passenger cars/pickups.

I agree with Graham that the side mount bracket is for a '33-'34 pickup.

Update - I have been looking closely at some of the windshield regulators for '34 closed cars that have been posted for sale on ebay and the jalopy journal. From the pictures of the ones on those posts, those hinges look identical with the curved lip on the top. I took it out to my car and held it up to my frame and it certainly would fit as the lip would go over the top edge of the bottom rail on the windshield frame and point toward the glass. The screw holes, pin diameter and width are the same. Here is a link to one of the ads on Jalopy.

I am looking at the '33-'34 book on page K-21. It seems to show a hinge without a lip. There is also a picture of the windshield regulator on page 7-17, but it does not have the hinge attached.

Like so many parts for these cars, my guess is they had more than one design for the hinge. Thoughts?
