Default Green Wheels, Really???

Just throwing this out there. The wheels on my little Pick-up are grey. Now I know that was an original color for the P/U along with straw. The body is Ford Maroon with black fenders. BUT and that's a big wide but, it has White Walls that are staying on.

Now the thing is, I really like the Apple Green wheels. I know they are not 100% original but I'm not a purest. It has white walls for Pete's sake. At this time I really don't care what the purest think, I'm a Hot-Rodder and at lest didn't put a small block in it.

So, pictures of Apple green wheels please.
p.s. sorry if I offended anyone with these strange thoughts.

Mine is almost a Model A. Brewster green with black fenders. Can you find someone that knows photoshop? If I had it to do over I would use black walls.

Maroon body and green wheels - gonna be like driving Christmas around :P

I like maroon cars, I like the green wheels - to me IMO red and green shouldn't be combined unless its a holiday decoration - it just looks off otherwise...

I love mine, I just did them!
My car had the Apple Green pin stripe already.

I had the wheels sandblasted, $100 for 5 wheels.
I then used Rustoleum self-etching primer (rattle can)
Then sprayed the wheels with Fern Gloss Rustoleum (rattle can) that you can get at Walmart!
Since you aren't a purist that should get you going.

The whites came with the P/U and I have two other cars I'm working on so the money is tight for tires. Thanks for the Fern Green, it looks nice. I was thinking rattle can at first then if I really like them , Powder coat. ( if I don't like them , Straw yellow) For the record, the Ford Maroon is more of a brown then red. I only had 1 person at a the car shows know it was Maroon.

The major problem "I" have with the grey is they look like primer in pictures, and there is a lot of people taking pictures of the "Little Truck". In person they are shiny. Unlike our 57 or Camaro paint is cheap , chrome is not.

Thanks all, some nice looking A's out there. Keep them coming.

yea I can see how the grey wheels look like primer... I think Hyundai has a light grey color and if its cloudy it looks like the entire car is in primer...

On your truck my choice is yellow - maybe not the straw yellow which is kind of pastel colored but a bright sun yellow to give it some pop.

I know a car that has GREEN wheels on the left & BLACK wheels on the right.
The purchasers' Wife sed, "$5.00 each to paint them? NOT ON MY SIDE"!!
The car has been that way through 4 owners!

I just happen to have these photos of the car that Brother Bill referenced. The story is that the wife didn't drive and never got around to the driver's side. Russ

The WHOLE story is referenced on the paper on the window.
I "think" the story was in a Major Magazine, at one time.
I've known 3 of the cars' OWNERS.

My 31 has green wheels and white walls. I like it just fine or I would have changed it.

Perfect solution: buy ANOTHER Model A truck in black, tan or green so he can put the Apple Green rims (and pin striping) on it! White walls optional.

Green wheels on black or green car. Green wheels on maroon car will make people feel sick. They are just not complimentary colors.
