Default Original Battery Caps - Can you ID these?

Guys,

I was digging through some cigar boxes of old parts today and ran across the following battery caps. I seem to recall reading somewhere over the years that Model A's used either the ones with embossed script or raised script, and that the Early V8's used the other, but I haven't been able to locate any info online (or in print) to help identify them. Can anybody here positively ID and date any of these?

Thanks!
Deron

These look to have had some sort of raised vent that's been broken off:

These have an embossed script:

Raised script and thick head:

Different raised script, also with thick head:

Raised script with thin head:

And just for honorable mention, can anyone verify if this is Model A? The hole spacing is the same as the original 26/27 Model T battery that I have but I don't know if it's the same as Model A.

I am pretty sure that the ones with the raised Script are Model A caps.. I also have several like that with a different style of lettering.. Different Mfg. ??..

Thanks Fred. I agree that there were probably numerous minor variations due to the different suppliers. There are quite a few more in the box so when I get some time I'm going to wash them all and see just how many variations I've got here.

Nice arrangement of Script battery parts.
The ones with the small Script and the center vent holes were introduced with the 1937 Fords, then replaced later in 1937 with caps without the vents.

Thank you for the input, Lincoln! Hopefully I can get the rest of them washed next week sometime and see just what's here.

Forgot to mention that the vents on your 1937 battery caps were originally nipples that protruded above the cap and slipped into a rubber hose which carried the battery fumes below the engine compartment.
On your unidentified battery cell connector, if it is 1/4" thick then PROBABLY it was for the later Model A and the 1932-early 1933 batteries. I have several type connectors of different thicknesses with different script markings - none of which I can positively identify. Maybe Ford had different suppliers, or maybe they were of early or late designs.
I too have a small collection of unidentified battery parts with most being new and never used that came out of older Ford dealers' stock. Ford batteries of the Model T and Model A days had short lives and were relatively expensive to replace, so many of the larger Ford dealers rebuilt the old Ford batteries using Parts from the Ford Factory. Just about all Parts were available.
On your battery caps, these varied as well in cap thickness, flat or tapered seat, flush or recessed inner posts, and of course in the Script markings.
