Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
I am creating an animation on how the Trico Vacuum Motor works. Can you please help me list the name of the parts? When the drawings are complete, I will share with all. Note: Being modeled is the KCX-1 (Replacement).
Thanks, Paul

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
Thanks for the help. I am still looking for names for 3, 4, 8, 9, and 13. If not known, any logical suggestions would help.

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
This thread is probably dead, but can anyone post a picture of the "Rocker home" against a grid with measurements? Mine shattered and I would like to reproduce it maybe in aluminum. A thickness measurement would also be appreciated.

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
Thanks guys, one learns something new here all the time. I see a note about "sewing machine oil" , never knew that the wiper motor could benefit from a shot of light oil. This could have been bad if internals were old school rubber.
Is there an actual "oil" hole? Joe B |

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
Here is some useful info........... at least it was for me.
Supplies: Trico Maro Oil or any light oil 4 or 5 inch hose (a air hose line off of an aquarim will work) Proceedure: Connect a 4 to 5 inch hose to the wiper motor Start with the wiper pointed down Move it to the extreme right. Pull the blade back 3/4 of its normal travel. Submerge a 4" hose into light machine oil (about 2 tbs.) Make a quick swipe till wiper points down. Remove oil and finish Stroke. Repeat the sequence the opposite direction. Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
If you want the correct names of the parts, I suggest you look at the patents for the Tri Co vacuum motors. I have done some research into their operation and found the original patents to be extremely helpful. The 2 that show the internal parts the best are the following: 2,032,319 which is the type you are working on and 1,840,233 which is the "original" era motor. Google has a patent search function. I have the patents on my computer, but don't know how to get them to you. The download from the patent office ad PDF files.
Good Luck + just found out how to attach the patent files, hope it worked. |

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification
Very nice of you guys to post diagrams of the motor. I am looking for the Trico diagram that shows the other pieces that go along with the motor to install the motor correctly. Is there a removable spacer that goes over the shaft of the motor, on the inside of the body? What is the Trico part number of the washer or wedge shaped spacer under the attachment shaft nut on the outside of the body? Does anyone have the Trico numbers for these parts if they are used? What is the Trico part number for the closed car wiper motor?
