How do you know the difference? we have a 28 frame with rear spring on it. Live in Oklahoma.

The 1928-31 Roadster was the only body style using a 7 leaf rear spring, Ford # A-5560-C. Because it was installed with the same spring clip bars as the 8 leaf spring it had a short dummy leaf Ford # A5585. In summary it is a 7 leaf spring with an 8" long dummy leaf with square cut ends. It is the only rear Model A spring using a dummy leaf. If you are not doing a show car you can of course improvise.

Most 28 springs up to May or June were script, so I am gathering he may want a script rdstr spring, but am not certain. That would narrow things down abit. Rod
