Mallory Magspark coils
I'm trying to gather information on these coils. Have any of you guys had experience with these?

Re: Mallory Magspark coils
Are you referring to the rectangular ones? If so, I had used one a while ago on a hot SBF. Got it from a swap meet so I was lucky it still was good.

Yes, the rectangular one with dual resistors and big condenser. I have a NOS one with mount that fits 49-53 fords and a NOS Mallory flat top distributor. I have run these distributors for decades with good results but have never used the Magspark coil.

Re: Mallory Magspark coils
Yep got a box full laying around here somewhere . These were a very good coil ( oil filled ) but some caution regarding the resistance , many were .6 ohms and require another resisitor of 1.5 to 2.0 ohms ... You want 3.0 ohms total with a 12 volt system .........
