Default Fastener size help 1931 Victoria rear pan

Hey Barners- I could use some help in the right size/thread of the bolts that fasten the rear body pan on a 1931 Victoria. these go into welded nuts along the rear body edge. And there are 2 where the fenders attach to. I've tried some screws I have and nothing is just right. Thanks for the help in advance.

The Standard Hardware book lists 1/4-20 x3/4 hex head bolts. However in the Victoria Book there to a photo of an original Victoria with 1/4 -20 round head screws. I used the screws to attach to the body and the bolts to attach to the fenders.

Hope that helps

The 1/4-20 size is too big.

Possibly #14-20? Or maybe #12=20?
#14-20 is slightly smaller than 1/4-20, #12-20 is smaller

All of mine are 1/4- 20 and that is what the books show.

Well guess what- you are all wrong. Turns out they were 12-NC 24 same as the floor board screws. Tapped them and got screws at the old time hardware store and pan is on. Thanks for trying.

In my 190A early Steel-Back, the rear valence is attached using 12-24 screws with lock-washers in 8 places.
