Default unknown transmission. model A?

I have a top load transmission and I believe the number stamped at the top reads 37-558897 does anyone know if this even is a model A trans? thank you for the knowledge.

Number were not stamped into the Model A transmission from the factory. The number is not a V8 number but it is probably later V8 transmission with an incorrectly stamped or misread number. How about a picture?

Charlie, thank you for the heads up. I looked more closely at that transmission and the number I think reads 87HA-58897.

It has open driveline so is '41 thru about '51 or '52 pickup.

I found it to be a trans dated for a 1948 6cyl. Thank you all for reaching out.

Would be for a truck as 48 cars were closed driveshaft and side shift

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but my trans in my roadster has a number on it. A4514B2 is the number. The transmission is a Model A transmission for sure. Was it stamped somewhere else?

According to the MAFFI site A4514B2 is UNIVERSAL JOINT HOUSING CAP - OUTER.
