Thanks for all the words of encouragement guys , going to order some manuals in the next week. And I will definitely bug my local auto parts store first, they were able to help several times with my A restoration. My wife's pushing for me to fully restore it but I like the current look, we will see who wins lol, but a complete chassis and power train restoration will be done.

Neat Jail bar. What's that tin can covering on the passengers side.... is there an oil filler under that? I suspect there is one of those long curly ones like on my v8 car which was assembled in NZ from a CKD unit out of the Ford Commonwealth plant of Canada. We got the alloy intakes as well from the factory. Groovy hood prop...that cracked me up.

Anyone know if there was an accessory sliding rear window or factory installed unit for 1942-47 pickups ?

I read somewhere that that was an option as was a rear bumper, a second wiper and a second tail light but have never seen any of them. At that time new vehicles were so hard to get that I suspect people just took what they could get.

The reason I was asking is, I have a sliding rear window as well as a lighter and ashtray and rear bumper on the 46 I just recently purchased. Thanks all

I restore a lot of those trucks, I still own my first one from 40 years ago! For springs, I use Posies dropped front and rear springs, excellent quality, direct bolt in, those truck look better lowered 3". Speedway has front disc brake conversion kits, and rear brake repair stuff. C&G Ford in CA has great parts, as do Midwest Ford in Ohio. I use Speedway's wiring kit to convert to 12 volt, my latest project has a cool 274 flathead in it. Best thing, many of those truck flatheads were factory relieved blocks, which make excellent blower motors....now you're spending money!

Yes sir, there's an oil fill under there.

Sorry for the slow response to everyone, been seeding the last week. She's going to be a blast to redo, picked up some rear shocks at the swap from the same guy I got the motor from. My son has already laid claim to the truck haha! Have a couple to finish up first then this one pulls into the shop. I'm looking forward to enjoying every part of this truck from redoing it with the family to finished, thanks for all the words of encouragement. Here's a pic of my son "driving" the AA (one of the ones I have to finish before I start this one lol )
