The face of the pan rail carries the load better in my opinion,the bracket bolts flush to the rail..yes you guys are right,going to the top of the rail is convienient

Actually the two pan rail bolts are only intended to give support so the engine angle is solidly held in a vertical position. Those bolts are not threaded into the pan rail they are just pins through the bolt holes.

Here is my version, just using angle iron, pipe couplings, and bolts. I wish I had greased the rotating part of the stand after it sat for 9+ years.
I think that it could be simplified by bolting the pan rail angle directly to the plate and have the water outlet bolts with spacers go through the lower arms, with the arms bolted on the backside of the plate, if needed. Last edited by Bruce of MN; 03-18-2020 at 05:59 AM. |

I use Snyders adapter and a 4 WHEEL STAND-as mentioned ,very important.
I have had the long block plus clutch and transmission on the stand and never a problem John
