Castle nuts vs lock washers
I just found that my front backing plates have nuts and lock washers and not castle nuts and pins.
Do I need to change them? |

Re: Castle nuts vs lock washers
I would go back to the original setup. The correct bolts and nuts can be obtained from several supply houses like Snyder or Bert's to name a few.

Re: Castle nuts vs lock washers
Just went to Tam's Model A parts and he sold me just the nuts without the bolts.
Great guy! |

I'd leave it as is unless you were restoring to blue ribbon specs.

Re: Castle nuts vs lock washers
If it is set up correctly the LW's will hold. When you take them apart then you can go back to pins and castle nuts.
