Default 1934 BB Dump Truck

Hi Everyone. Just bought a 1934 BB Dump Truck. I have a question about the gear shift. It has a lever & rod that runs down the shaft into the trans. Does anyone know what this is for?

You may even find your four speed gearbox has a PTO unit, and that's a versatile piece of kit.

Is the truck pictured in your post the one you just bought? Looks like a 32.

The area in the centre of the hood sides shows where the Ford Oval and V8 emblems mount. Nice truck, Byron.

I just rebuilt the shaft and sliders on my 34 bb shifter. Before I worked on it, it would shift into reverse without pulling up the lock knob. After I worked on it, it now has to be held up to shift into reverse. Question, if I slide the shifter all the way to the right without pulling up on the knob, it lock the shifter in neutral and know has to be held up again to re-enter the 1-4 forward range, is this normal? Seems like a good option and I like it, just want to know if it’s supposed to work this way?

Microlink, from the Model A service bulletins "The distance from the top of the gear
shift lever ball to the bottom of the lip on the latch must measure between 4" and
4 1/16".
