Re: Mac 3.54 for 34ford installation
I installed a set of 1935/1936 Ford 10 spline 3.54 gears in my 34 rearend. I had a machine shop machine the bearing surface and large end of the teeth down. I did not need to shave any off the ring gear. I was told (and it is true) that an upper bearing race from a 35-36 steering box is the perfect shim for the pinion nut. It was very easy to do and my Merc engine'd 34 loves the highways now
I am about to do 35-36 10 spline 3.78's in my 33 pickup. I will do it the same way

Re: Mac 3.54 for 34ford installation
I will go with the 3.54 gear set.
I haven't had rear axle apart before. Would appreciate any resource info you can direct me to. Thanks to all. Keith |
