How Long Have You Owned Your Car?
I saw a `39 Deluxe Coupe advertised on eBay that the gentleman had owned for 48 years! I had a `41 Chevy Coupe for 17 years. I have owned my `37 Chevy Coupe for 12 years and the`35 Ford Cabriolet for 5 years so I am just an adolescent. I know some of you still have the car you owned in high school. Some pics of back then and now would be great! I know Mike Burch has a Model A Roadster that he and his wife dated in back in the 60’s or maybe late 50’s.
Let’s hear from you and pictures please. Shadetree

Re: How Long Have You Owned Your Car?
I have owned my 1934 Ford Pickup since 1985 when I bnought it, very rough - no wheels, fenders, restorable engine, or wiring, but I have restored it completely except the seats and bed for the box.

Re: How Long Have You Owned Your Car?
Can't 'beat' barry's post, but here are a couple more long-term owners...
A gentleman in the so cal RG, in his 80's, bought his 32 roadster in 1940, still has it, and he has been featured in the V8 Times (maybe about 5 years ago). Another gentleman in RG88, bought his 32 roadster in 1948, still has it. And, another in the Valley V-8's (so cal), who has never owned or driven anything but the V8's he bought back in the 40's... a 37, a 40, and a 40 Merc. One of these (40 Merc) has about 1M miles, and been on many trips to Canada & Alaska. Judging from the posts, there must be a 'bunch' of long-time owners. (I'm a 'beginner', as I bought a car in 1956 which I still have.) Last edited by bobH; 11-02-2011 at 10:37 PM. |

Re: How Long Have You Owned Your Car?
!935 5-window coupe. I bought it December 1958 for $200 from the original owner, a little old lady. I paid $200, which was an outrageous amount for an "old" car at that time especially one that was not running but, it only had 19K miles. Currently it has 40K.

I've had my '56 Fairlane since '68 - Six years longer than the wife. Glad I don't have to choose one or the other. . .
