The floor board would have just had a hole cut out for the gear shift lever to stick thru. There would have been just a plate to cover the access hole to grease the bearing without taking the floor out. The multiple disk clutch was used up to Nov 1928 and would have had a crossover with the pistol grip center parking brake lever.

The picture of the 3 covers on the green background is my picture of my 3 covers.
Another way to tell a multiplate is the 3/4" pedal shaft, while the single plate has a 7/8" shaft.

Here are some original floor boards, just disregard the two small round holes.

Thanks Bob C,
I was googling so many floor boards tonight I think I will dream about them all night long. This looks like the truck floor boards I found in thread "Pictures of my floor boards". The only thing different for my 28 would be the two small holes that I presume is a different config for the truck? hydraulic lifter, starter??

I will use the ideas in the "pics of my floor boards" to make my own. Tom Wessenberg you mentioned you found the correct dovetail router bit for this job?

I need to dust off my router and start clearing the cobwebs from my planer as well!!!

Thanks so much to all, for the input today. This was great fun
Tim

Here's an end view of the tongue and groove in the solid wood floorboards.
