I found my in the 1980's at Hershey during the " mud & rain " era. It was raining so hard I walked into a large tent to get out of the rain for awhile. The owner asked I was looking for and I said Ford stuff. He walked over to a display case and pulled out the early brass Ford badge.

His price $10.00 Sometime it is better to be lucky than good.
Lucky you. WOW! I bet you could not get that $10 bill out of your pocket fast enough?

interesting topic !
my thanks to all of the contributors especially Gary in MN for detailing the different mounting styles. I have a handful of these badges as SWAG for my great grandfather's '40 Town Sedan. nice to discover the early vs. late details.
Jake bought his car new and lived in San Francisco and I've read that all pre-war Mercs destined for West coast delivery were built in the Richmond plant. I've been searching (casually) for *anything* from this facility for decades and, with the exception of the odd aerial photo, nothing. nada. zero. zip.
input appreciated.
TIA

What other badges do you have? Shoot me a message, I know of someone with a Richmond badge that might trade.

thanks for your note.
nothing to speak of. a couple of ROUGE shift badges (... as they were described to me decades ago) and a couple of tool checks. my great grandfather was the original owner of this '40 Town Sedan and when I found out that (maybe it's true) all pre-war Merc's destined for West Coast delivery were assembled @ the Richmond plant I started looking around. this was a San Francisco delivery. he was a retired S.F. police officer. these kind of numbers are beyond my ability.
I did notice the Canada badge that went off several weeks ago. YOW!

Rouge badges are pretty common, do you have any pics of the badges and tool checks?

Very cool, I have several of those myself. The Rouge badges all have letters designating the different departments. I'd be interested to know what letters you have on your badges.
