Default AOD transmission in a '67 mustang

What kind of fitment issues, if any, are there installing an AOD into a 1967 Mustang? This would replace a C4 automatic.

took my 70 mustang for a ride the other day the motor got hot and the the trans shoped working when the motor cooled down the trans started to work ok trans oil was full.
