Default So long

My avitar (31 DeLuxe tudor sedan) began it's journey to Italy last night.
I've had 9 years of fun with it and time to let it go as I acquired a 40 DeLuxe coupe last fall. Going to miss it but the 40 is so much fun (70 mph).
I'll still be hanging around here though .

Paul....you will be back. Once you have been bitten it will be an itch you will need to scratch. Start saving for another A. But have fun with your 40, I would love one too.

My dad acquired a 38 once. Took us kids somewhere, on the way decided to see how fast it would go. Hit 100 mph on a long straight back road before he begged off - kids in the car, you know.

My 38 had probably one of the last 21 stud engines with the water pumps in the front of the block instead of the heads . If the speedometer was correct , I had it up to 92 MPH .

Hi Paul,
Congrats on the 40, they are my most liked year Fords, any chance you could sneak in a pic, should I ask what is powering it, maybe you shouldn't answer.
Enjoy, Regards Brian.

Wow, I leave for a little bit and come back to Flamingo leaving, I've enjoyed many of your posts and your responses to others, stay in touch and have fun with your '40 DeLuxe.
I've being out of pocket rebuilding the motor and tranny in my '57 Chevy, just got it back together and running yesterday.
Going to take it for a spin tomorrow (fathers Day)
One little side note: You ever see them Italians drive? Them boy's is crazy, hope your old '31 fairs well under their sunny blue Italian sky's.

I bought a '40 Ford sedan, sold the '28 Leatherback, had seller's remorse and bought a sweet '29 standard coupe a year ago. Couldn’t be without the A but I sure like the '40.
Paul, tell us what drive train you have in your '40, must have a 3.54 or an overdrive to cruise 70. Mine came with a 4.11, good for NH hills but not the highways.

No reason you can't have both a Model A and a 47 Ford flathead coupe like in my avatar!
Both of them bring back memories. I have two sons and one wants the Model A and the other one wants the Coupe so the attorneys won't be able to fight over the estate when I go!

Notice how we all have an attachment to old cars. It is probably because they remind us of better days. Each one of your old rides could be on the new chapter page in the book of your life. We can associate great memories with each of them. They are timeless; as for us, not so much ! Watcha think ?
