Who to buy parts from?
I'm looking online and in catalogs and for many parts there are a number of companies all selling the same parts usually within a few dollars of each other. Right now I am ordering all the parts needed to hang front springs and parts are available from companies such as Macs, LMC. C&G, NPD, Midwest Early Ford, and others.
Are they all getting the parts from essentially the same supplier or does one company stand out in terms of quality and or US made? |

Re: Who to buy parts from?
For the most part they all sell the same parts, but some items are different. It is hard to pick one supplier, different parts are better (quality and price wise) from one supplier and another supplier of another part. Just the way it is. Shipping and come into play, there are real differences on the shipping rates. Some parts are better purchased from a NOS source as the reproduction parts are basically junk.

Re: Who to buy parts from?
Bob Drake may have better parts but the last couple of times I have tried to order most of the stuff has been out of stock. That's why they call him Back Order Bob

Re: Who to buy parts from?
I have dealt with Midwest Early Ford a bunch and never have been disappointed in shipping or quality. The quality of most all repro parts are basically the same I have found out.

Re: Who to buy parts from?
My favorite source for 30 years. He has tons of NOS stuff. Not always made by ford, but usually. For instance exhaust valves in an old dog eared box, clearly brand new, made in Akron Ohio. You call him, he states price and availability. Next he sends you the goods with a hand written invoice and when it arrives you send him a check. Sorry that was my old lense and they're blurry. I'm a fan of C&G. They regularly ship from California to PA in two days. Knowledgeable staff, great customer service attitude.

Found C&G of Escondido CA by accident 20 odd years ago. Always go to them first now, their customer service is next to none in my opinion.

That's probably an "Old Wives Tale" that Kube started back when he was a kid, and had just started working on these old Fords

Re: Who to buy parts from?
Don't buy the rubber gaskets from MAC'S, ALL of the ones I ordered were poor quality.
I no longer use them for other parts but some people seem to like them. It all boils down to your standards and what pleases you. I'm sure there are good parts from them to be had.

Re: Who to buy parts from?
Don't forget to check Van Pelt. They have put together allot of helpful information which is available to the general public. I have received good service from both Van Pelt and Mac's. Many parts are the same from all suppliers.
