Cool 47 super deluxe question

I recently purchased a 47 Super deluxe and when I pulled the hood release knob it kept on pulling till out. So, I'm sure there will be an "ah ha moment" or this may be a dumb question but does anyone know how I can release the hood?

You might can do it with a hacksaw blade, but I use a bread knife, oriented as shown. If the car is completely stock, there may be a cover over the latch bar, which negates this trick.

what drolston said.. you should be able to push the release with a thin strip of steel ..

fairly common problem.

It is bone stock. Also, does anyone know anywhere that I can get interior parts because this one is missing door panels and a front seat. I have bucket seats but I would rather put a bench seat in front because it is a four-door… Looking for ideas.

The door panels are sold by Cartouche and LeBaron Bonney. The seat will have to be found from a donor vehicle.

I found the first latch and can even see where the wire broke I believe but the problem is the hood will still not released and I believe that it is the center pin behind it that may be holding me back. I'm fixing to break out a power saw so any help will be appreciated .

Try pushing down on the front of the hood at the same time you push the piece of steel. Maybe bounce it a little.

Did you release the safety catch hook?

I am assuming the "safety catch hook" is what is attached to the cable in the cab? That pulled all the way out.

The hook (I'm assuming) in the front flops back and front and I am pushing it back while simultaneously trying to pry upward.

I'm at a loss...but I can see the pin behind the hook barely. It looks like a small varmit may built a nest at one time so I'm fight debris also.

The cable was connected to the primary latch. You'll need to disengage that before the safety latch.
This can be done but as you are already finding, it's a royal pain...

If all else fails, remove the panel underneath between the radiator and splash shield. You should be able to reach up in there with a sharp tool and move the latch bar.

Well, I finally got it. There was a gentleman down the street that had a 46. I had a neighbor stop by and saw mine and noted that he had one too so I went over there for advice and to get an actual look at what I was up against and what I needed to do. Thank all of you for the help

If you use the 'Go Advanced' response option and select 'Manage Attachments' inserting a pic is much easier than the other methods.

post in the want ads you need a front seat, someone probably has one. I needed one and thats how I found mine. As for the door panels and other interior panels, I ordered mine thru Cartouche', I think thru Bob Drake. They were a very good fit, at least thats what my upholsterer said.

Thanks for the advice.👍
I posted in the wanted ads for the front seat. We'll see what happens there. I went to post a pic as you suggested and it said I had a security/coin problem to let the admin know so I did. As soon as that is dealt with I'll post some pictures of the motor.
