Default Next time you're on I-40 in NM, you have to see this.

The Lewis Auto Museum has over 600 cars. Link to video and pictures below.

WOW...Nice

Has anyone gone to Google Maps or Google Earth to view it from the air?

Wink Re: Next time you're on I-40 in NM, you have to see this.

I know the place as it is on Route 66 and I am helping the town of Moriarty with a few restoration plans.
HE WON'T SELL ANYTHING!!!
I walked the entire property and also the inside building and it is so saddening to know these things will rust into the ground.

I am restoring a 49 Ford F3 truck and he has EVERYTHING I need and will not see anything!

I told him it is now my mission in life to buy SOMETHING from him!!

BUT, if you are up that way - you have to stop in - just the vast amounts of cars from Model T's, Model A's, old Fords and everything else you can imagine - and he has a small 'hill' of old engines and flatheads....

I left pissed but thankful I had a chance to talk to him and tour the property....

Maybe he would trade for something. I know some guys who won't sell something, but often will trade for something.

Does anyone know what make of car that is in the photo on right, just above the aerial view of property? It's a black sedan with yellow fog lights.

WOW! Eak, Do I ever remember MORIARITY! In 1944, Chief & Momma were in a '35 Chev. ton & a half with side racks & framed up with war surplus canvas covering. Like a poor man's "motor home" with 4 beds.
Uncle "Pappy" & I following in a '29 Chev. 4 door that sat on a "rake", as it had 16's on the front & them "tall skinnies on the other end.
Cold ICY winds screamed out of the Northwest like a ticked off BANSHEE at 2:00 A.M, in the pitch DARK! NO HEATERS & we were driving, all wrapped up with war surplus Navy wool blankets, too Cold to talk, even!
Then! 2 silhoutte palm tree cut outs, painted up, & spotlights shining on them----"A MOTEL"!----We had a few bucks & sprung for it!!! HOT SHOWERS, a HEATER, & WARM BEDS
Traveling there again in 1953, we were "rich", in our NEW '53 Plymouth with OVERDRIVE, after traveling 976 miles in ONE day, from Fresno, Ca! We poked Mamma in the back seat, would gas up when down to 1/2 tank, & Chief & I would change off driving to "stay fresh" Momma couldn't see the SPEEDO MAN! thet Plymmy cruised almost "effortlessly" @ 80 to 85---YES, we stayed at that same old MOTEL, AGAIN!
