Help identifying bumper grill part
Anyone recognize what appears to be late '40s early '50's bumperettes likely from a Ford, Mercury or Lincoln.

Hard to tell from that angle just what it is. What about a different angle, say looking the item head-on as though you were looking at it mounted on the bumper.

Several more photos from different views as you might see the bumperettes attached to the bumper & grille. These came from a collection that included a 1949 Mercury.

I don't believe that it is off a 1949 Mercury. From this angle, you can see a square recess with two holes. From this view, someone out there may be able to identify this mystery part? |

Re: Help identifying bumper grill part
Thank you all. You can't stump the Fordbarn gang even with a non-Ford part. When you look at the Corvette "nerf bar" grille protector and front license plate holder you can see it in the attached photo's perspective.
Must have been in this guys collection for a long time as he had over 100 cars, and the majority were Fords, a Mercury or 2, and many Lincoln Zephyrs & Continentals which make sense as he was on the board of directors of Ford Motor Co. for over 20 years. One of my favorite Corvette years, late 50's early '60. Thanks again. |
