Default 36 cabriolet question

A mate is working on a 36 cabriolet which has been messed with around the top of the body behind the seat.

There are obvious marks where spot weld have been drilled out, what should be there? Could it have been a tray or shelve for the top to fold into?

Does anyone have photos of a stripped out original 36 cabriolet?

Cheers Spider

send me your email address I have a couple of photos of 35 Cabriolet. [email protected] Yes there is a sheet metal shelf that is spot welded to the steel belt at the inside bottom of the top assembly. The sheet metal has a wood frame the wood frame is supported by L brackets at the rear of the door pillar and by sheet metal that is attached to the side of the door pillar.
