Most model A parts vendors offer a six volt positive ground alternator for use on the model A . I use a six volt positive ground alternator on at least two of my model A's . These positive ground six volt alternators were purchased from model A vendors . I doubt that a six volt positive ground alternator would be available at most local parts houses . Using a six volt alternator is no guarantee that you would be able to find a replacement on the road .
