60hp part id

I found this part in my 60hp stash. Not sure what it is. Anybody id it for me please?

If it didn't come from an old Ford it might stump folks on this forum. I'm not familiar with any distinct differences between the engine or chassis components of the V8-60 cars and the other Fords other than the round tube front axle. If there is a knuckle used in that suspension for a panhard rod or a stabilizer then someone ought to remember on here but I sure can't tell you for sure. It does look suspension related though.

The number is C-374.the re The only thing I could find, said something about a cam chain adjuster, but it didn't say if it was even Ford related.
This part was in a box with 3 sets of 60hp pistons, lots of rings, main and rod bearings, all new. It also looks like a suspension part to me.

Yes you do.

I have several 60hp engines and know the vehicles they were used in pretty well, and I have never seen a part like that on any of them. Make it a wall hanger for now, and maybe you will figure it out later.

Looks like part of the throttle linkage from a 2/8/9N Ford tractor. Bolts to the head and a rod goes in it.

Oh Jim, now I gotta buy a tractor? I think it will be a wall hanger as suggested.

A size scale would be helpful too...could be a wing attachment bracket for a 747 but I'd guess it's smaller than that

I thought about that also. It is only (roughly) about 3" center to center on the two matching holes. The opposing hole is about 1 1/2" from the hole above it.

My first impression was that it was a suspension part. No idea about anything else.

Checked my 2N and 8N today, its a 2N which is the first series of the n Ford tractors starting in 39.
The 9n and 8n use a different throttle setup.

9n was first in series-1939. 2n-1942. 8n-1948

2N tractors (1942) were originally sold as war time products. The had magnetos with no electrics and steel wheels. Many were converted to 9N configuration after the war. All of them were similar with 4-cylinder flathead 120 CID engines and the gear drive governor set up. I don't recall a part like that on them but I do know that some were set up to run on kerosene and other oddities over their production span.

Then it is a 9n, it has the alum steering gear box and dash. Rod that goes in this bracket starts from a hole in the dash and runs forward with linkage to the gov.
