Help with 1935 Window Regulators
When I wind the window regulator for the drivers door of my 1935 Fordor down, it, skips and then the crank wants to unwind. It looks like I need to buy a window regulator repair kit but I'm concerned about the 3 rivets that hold the regulator in place. If I drill out the rivets and repair/replace the regulator shaft, it looks like I'd only have access to replace one rivet. The other two rivets are behind one of the gears. I'm afraid that I'd open up a can of worms if I tried to remove the gear mechanisms. Has anyone used the regulator repair kit? Thanks, Bob

Re: Help with 1935 Window Regulators
I bought a regulator repair kit about 15 years ago, the parts included were very poorly made and the regulator barely functioned.
Picked up a used rear door regulator cheap and used the winder shaft parts from it to replace the crap repop parts. Don't know if the current repair kits are better now or not, wouldn't expect them to be tho. IMHO |

Don't know about those kits, but I would suggest calling Dick Spadaro or Early Ford Store or someone else and seeing if you can find a NOS or used regulator.
My (admittedly limited) experience is that you will waste a bunch of time trying to make a lot of this repro stuff fit and/or work correctly. It is truly a crap shoot and I'm not sure the odds are even.

Re: Help with 1935 Window Regulators
I got a regulator for my 37 from Regulator Roy. He has an ad in the back of the V8 Times. It wasn't NOS, but was in good condition and it works great!

Re: Help with 1935 Window Regulators
I bought a pair of those cheap ones for my 35 pickup and so far have been working ok. Got them online from one of those "hotrod" sellers think they where around $100 ?

Re: Help with 1935 Window Regulators
I have a good 36 pass side regulator. It's the 8 screw model, handle forward.
