Default Engine Color Schemes

I'm curious if there is a site that shows the traditional paint/primer colors of the different engine sections like block, manifolds, housings, tranny, bolts, etc. Type of paint would help too. I'm sure the exhaust manifold needs a serious hi-temp paint. Any help appreciated.

The easy rule, cast parts green, other parts black. for details, see the Model A Restoration Guidelines, section 1.

"CAST-BLAST" looks REALLY good on the KZHAUST Manifold! Bead blast it first.

Obtain for yourself a copy of the Restoration Guidelines and Restoration Guidelines from The Model A Restorer's Club or the Model A Ford Club of America. It spells put the colors of the engine and chassis. It also describes the preparation taken by Ford. It's a good investment for anyone who owns a Model A.

My hill-climb friends insist that red engines power Model A's to the top much faster. Same for drag racing on the sand.
Really. I have it on strict authority.

I had good luck with VHT paint for the exhaust manifold, although you'll see that it was not originally painted.

Cast iron parts are green except for the distributor and carburetor, which are black. Stamped steel parts and the front motor mount are black.
