Drag link "innards"
I'm finding two different orientations for the spring, cups etc. In the Model "A" Ford as Henry built it ( Edition three) page 43 a technical illustration shows the pitman arm end of the drag link. What I'm seeing is a spring (next to the zerk) ball cup, pitman arm ball and then the end plug. Snyder's A-3305-S Instructions at the zerk end shows a spherical cap, pitman arm ball, ball cap, spring and then the end plug. Thoughts.

Re: Drag link "innards"
If i remember right one end is one way the other is the other way. Look at your drag link - one end is definitely closer to the threaded side than the other. Both ends should have a zerk otherwise how would you lube the ball?

Re: Drag link "innards"
The picture on page 43 is the old design. The design changed in Oct 1928. Basically
the drag link was turned end for end. See page 290 of the Service Bulletins. Bob |
