Default Oil Pump rebuild questions - How to?

Hey guys, I want to rebuild an oil pump. Everyone sells the kits, but is there a tool to press out the old bushings? I only find the reamer at Brattons and nowhere else? Is the bushing driver for distributors also used for oil pumps. Finally, it would appear the first bushing would be driven all the way down - to then push out the second bushing, is that correct? I find nothing in books or online describing oil pump rebuild procedure. And finally, for those in the know, would the driver and reamer also work to rebuild my B Distributor? Would be great if the tools will work for more than one job! Thank for any help. Greg

I use a 9/16 tap to remove the bushings. I just tap into the top or bottom and drive both out from the opposite end. An old oil shaft can be used to drive the new bushing in. Be careful of the top one. If it is too tight, it will split the housing.

Thanks James, that will get me going. I have 3 pumps to work on so by the third I should have it figured out! Funny how the more detailed my mechanical questions are....the fewer responses I get! The guys who really know are a treasure to me, again thank you!
