Default Bottom rumble seat

Recent purchased 29 sportster and the bottom seat move forward. I see two hole in metal under seat but this seat has just the sprinted on bottom. Should there have been a plywood board and the seats fastened to it soppegs could be attached to go in the metal holes to secure the seat

The springs should have a narrow loop that fits through the holes in the support to keep the spring from moving forward.

just a little u shaped piece that is about 1.5 inches long and is made of spring material. I would take a picture, but both of mine are put away for the winter.

If you look at the bottom of the spring of the seat cushion you will see two metal loops that project out from the spring. These will fit into the holes you are asking about. Set the cushion in place upright and you'll see the projections match with the holes.
