On my '40, What is this?
This is a rear window for a 2 dr sedan
What is this for and what would you use to replace it? It's on the inside lower edge of the garnish molding. Something to help keep wind from entering the cabin over the door panel?? Would thin weather strip (foam type) work in it's place? What have you done/used? You can see it close to the left clamp. It appears to be a rubber seal. I dug out another pair and it shows it better. It's also on the front moldings. It's 3/16" thick. Thanks for your help! Dick Last edited by Dick; 03-06-2016 at 09:36 AM. |

Dick....is that from the rear window of 2 door sedan ? If so......I reworked all mine exactly the way you are and there was nothing like that on either of my rears.

It may be just to keep the molding from digging into the door panel, hadn't thought of that. Looking at the other molding, I think some weather strip tape would be very close. I hadn't noticed this until replacing the fuzzies, it's just the tape residue left on the painted molding. |
