Default 1933-'34 Torque Tube Dimensions

For a V8 Torque Tube
I've searched and searched, and there are seemingly dozens of threads that touch on this subject, but NONE I find seem to be "balls-on"-positive with an EXACT overall length, from the bell, to the end of the rear flange. I also need the ID of the big hole in the center of the rear, 6-hole flange. I do know that the length is going to be in the neighborhood of 61-3/4" to 61-7/8". So, does anyone have a relatively clean one that they could lay a tape measure on to get me an EXACT length to the nearest 1/16"? I could also really use a CLOSE measurement on the Inside Diameter of that rear opening at the flange. I'd really appreciate anyone that can take the time to do this for me. DD

I don't have one to measure but you should post if you want a 4 banger or V8, they are different.

For 1933-1934 Fords, regardless of what engine they had, 4 or V8, they were both built on exactly the same chassis & wheelbase. The difference in length is only in the Drive Shafts, to accommodate for the longer 4 cylinder engines and slant of the Radiator.
The length of the Drive shaft in the V-8 = 60 5/32” while the Drive shaft in the 4 cylinder = 58 7/16”
It follows that the Tube on the 4 cylinder was shorter by same amount.

Vince Falter has information with the info, but he has marked the lengths as "approximate" dimensions.

http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/model46rearsupport.htm

Shows 4 cylinder torque tube approx 60-3/16" and V8 approx 61-13/16" long.

Hi all; Not to be picky, but that late '32 is identical to a 33/34, but again a different tube and drive shaft length. I believe that there are three lengths to look out for. Newc

Hi there, I have measured two 1934 V8 torque tubes in the past and my notes say 61 13/16" long. In metric 1571 mm. Regards, Kevin.

As Kevin says; 61 13/16 in. I just changed mine and that's the measure for the longer, (V8), torque tube.
