Default 53 Flathead Oil line

Looking for an oil line bracket for my 53 Flathead. It is the return oil line from oil canister to oil pan. The bracket clips on the line and connects to one of the exhaust manifold bolts. Mine is broken. I assume it was there originally, but I haven't been able to locate one. I guess I can weld it as a last resort. Thanks

tommyleea: Is your engine a 53 Ford or Mercury? My 53 Merc engine manual doesn't show that this item was used. I just ran a new line from the bottom of the Merc oil canister to the block and did not use any clip. Even if your Ford did use such a clip I would avoid using it since exhaust manifold bolts are frequently difficult to remove resulting in "broken bolt" problems. The "coupler" is tubing I soldered in place to join segments of the line I needed.
Be sure to route your line so you can remove the head easily.

Of course, if you are building a 100 point restoration you would disregard what I did.

I think this is the one he is talking about. This is on a 53' Mercury. Let me know if I am wrong. As it turns out I swill need one too. Seems like a bad design to attach the oil line to the exhaust manifold.

Thanks for posting that photo of the "clip". Now, I remember seeing it years ago. Will keep my eyes open for it.

I guess that oil line clip disappeared years ago from my 52 Merc. It seems to work fine without it. I had to get a new line made up at a hydraulic shop when I put the car back in service after it's long retirement. I was lucky the old brittle line broke while idling in the shop. It did not take long to pump a lot of oil out on the floor even at idle.

Yes, that is the one. Probably not really needed for my purpose. I think I will try and weld mine back together, and see what happens. Thanks to all.
