Default 1956 Drivers Door Weatherstripping Leak

Washing the car and the Drivers seat is wet. Have new weatherstripping on the door but there is a gap at the top. The window frame/ door fits well in the opening, it appears the strip is not wide and perhaps tall enough?

The correct seal is on the door, is there a universal weatherstrip that could take its place?

My local Auto upholstery supply has a large assortment of weatherstripping in all kinds of shapes you might try one in your area. Or here: http://www.steelerubber.com/universal-parts

Tell ya what, there is a place called Metro Moulded parts. You can find them on the internet, get their phone number and request a catalog of their sponge rubber weatherstripping. They have a pretty big assortment of universal type weatherstrip and the catalog gives measurements of each.
I suggest staying away from the weatherstripping sold by Dennis Carpenter. You can see how much shorter the lip is that is supposed to catch with the door jamb when compared to the original rubber. They don't stop any water from coming in at all. Next thing you know, you got dry-rotted seat upholstery, carpet and rusted out floor panels.

Might that door have window track channels with a bit of mounting adjustment?
To lean the top of the window more toward the roof and weatherstripping.

If the window frame is built as part of the door, perhaps it was bent outward sometime in the past.
