Try Mac Van Pelt at Van Pelt Sales. He's THE Ford transmission guru so I think he'd know if there's a sealed bearing available, and if there is he might have it. Just google him. BTW he's a member of this forum and good people.

Re: rebuild T85 tranny
Yeah, VAN PELT or there are BEARING/SEAL specialty stores in most areas.
Be careful as there is a lot of OFF-SHORE JUNK coming through.

Re: rebuild T85 tranny
Where are you getting your parts? I have a T85 with R 11 OD and want to go thru it before I install it. It looks good inside but I don't have any history on it. Came out of a 57 Ford. Thanks for any info.

Re: rebuild T85 tranny
I will get ahold of Mac I have had great results with him on a t 86. i understand the r11 oil skaring with the t 85 main case but i am not sure if i can improve the input shaft bearing with a sealed bearing, probably just get a new flow through bearing..... I like the second opinions and learning the best possible rebuild as that dang tranny is too heavy for an old man to pop in and out! I am going to call the manual tranny Guru { Mac V.P.} still value your experience and knowledge. Thanks I'll let ya know what happens!
