I have had good results with the heavy duty 8 fins per inch radiator from snyders on one of my cars and good results with same from Smith and jones with another.

I'm using a Brassworks radiator on my '31. It fits and cools very well.

I use a local radiator shop, very familiar with Model A's, to re-core them. In most cases he can fit a 4 row 10 fins per in on 30/31 radiators. That may be an over-kill in cooler climates but a real god-send in the Texas hot summers.

Gary, You can't go wrong with a Brassworks IMHO. Maybe a little pricey but you get a very good product that fits well and works well.

I would rather re-core but we only have one radiator shop here n town and I'm not sure if they've ever seen a model A ! I just pulled up those Brassworks radiators...that would be my first choice on a new radiator. Think I'll talk to the radiator shop first and compair the price of a re-core and a new Brassworks.

Check out http://bergsradiator.com/modela.html They have just the cores to give to your radiator shop (be sure to give the radiator shop the shell also so they can get the brackets right)

Bergs 1930-31 radiator with three row flat tube core $495.00

Brassworks non show 1930-31 with flat tube with 6FPI $535
Show radiator 6 fins per inch with hand-dimpled fins $650.

Thanks Mike...Have you used Bergs before? The re-cored radiator for $495 sounds like the way to go rather than payng $350 + no telling what my radiator shop will charge re-coring mine. I know the shop is pretty pricey on thier repairs.

No, but I received the name a short while ago from someone that had and they liked it.
