Default 1948 gas tank removal

I am going to have to remove the gas tank on my newly acquired 48 coupe. So much crud in the fuel pump and carb that I know the tank must be awful. I see one mount in the front by the rear spring and two in the rear. Is that all the mounts I will have to remove? Other than these 3 mounts I need to remove the filler neck and the fuel line, is there anything else to keep it from dropping down?

Nope, that's it. Here's hoping that the captive nuts cooperate so it doesn't turn into the three day battle I enjoyed.

Thanks. If you never hear from me again, I will be out underneath the car...

My 51 Merc has a drain plug on the tank. I thought that was pretty interesting.

A word of caution: when working on a gas tank, fuel lines, etc where there may be fuel dripping, do NOT use an AC trouble light. an obvious fire hazard should the bulb break. use a battery powered one if needed.

My car does too. But after struggling with it for an hour and getting it to start to round off I decided to remove the tank and have it cleaned out at a radiator shop.

fordwife makes an excellent point.
Don't forget to disconnect your battery also and wires on tank sending unit.
