Default Rochester Carb Help

Can anyone tell me anything about this Rochester Carb. I was told it is a 4 bolt for a Mercury. Was it for a Mercury? What year was it used? Are they any good? Is it rare? What are they worth? Thanks Fordbarn!

Since it's a Rochester, I doubt that it was ever used on a Mercury; they used a Holley that looked similar. I believe it is for '49-'50 Oldsmobiles.

NOT a Mercury, although it will probably bolt-on to a '49-type 4-bolt manifold.

It's a Rochester Products 7002570, originally for a '49-50 Olds 303 V8. Click these two eBay links for examples. DD

Yes, in '70 and '71 they installed Rochester Quadrajets on some 429 Fords.

Seriously? Any ideas as to WTF that was all about, other than it probably ran and economized better than any Autolight? DD

Yes, it's true. I used to have the Rochester service manual that listed them for '70 and '71 429's. Not sure why. Very unusual. Maybe there was a shortage of Autolites.

Or officially known as the Rochester model "AA".
