Default What is this window?

I bought this window several years ago on eBay as a "Coupe Rear Window".

Never opened the box to really look at it, and now I realize it is WAY wrong
for my 1929 Coupe. What is it for? It looks like a rear window for a fold-down canvas top. It measures 7-1/4" x 11-1/8".

I had cobbled together a Plexiglas window for my car and I want to put a real window in it now. The opening is 10-7/8" x 23-7/8". Is this the right opening for a standard coupe window? The corners are rounded slightly.

If this is the stock opening, where is a good place to start looking for a window that will work? My car was in Southeast Alaska for years in the rain. After it dried out here in Nevada, most of the wood in the belt rail and above has or is about to fall apart. Fun.

Most of the suppliers have glass, either as one item or a set for your car. Looks like the top is a "Special" coupe. Wood kits for the car are available also. As you said.. "Fun"
If you look at previous posts on the forum, I think I found a spec sheet with all the dimensions listed. Good Luck

I'm pretty sure my Coupe is a 1929 Special Coupe with lots of cobbled-together stuff. Someone put a metal roof on it with two pieces overlapped at one side. I would like to re-do the roof someday. Just need $$ and time. The wood kit for a Special Coupe is more expensive, but I don't know why. I need to replace quite a bit of the wood above the doors and roof.

I still haven't found an answer to my question. I want to put this window up for sale, but want to describe it accurately. I'm not even sure it is for a Model A.... Can someone point me to a thread that would address this? Thanks.

7-1/4" x 11-1/8" It has remnants of canvas-like material sandwiched between the edges of the frame. There is some embossed stuff on one end that is something like:

Google doesn't have much.

Try posting on the AACA forum. They have an entire group called "What is This?" for exactly this purpose.

I went on the AACA website. Interesting place! I've had a couple of responses already. The most interesting one said it might be for a 1912 Peerless automobile. Thanks for steering me to this other forum.
