Model A Cooling System Volume
For purposes of antifreeze addition, what is the total cooling system volume (combined volume of the radiator and engine water spaces) in a Model A? thanks.

Re: Model A Cooling System Volume
As Mitch said, the total is about 3 gallons, but I use 2 1/2 gallons to allow expansion room in the top tank, otherwise the excess will go out the overflow pipe and on the ground. I use 1 1/2 gallons of antifreeze and 1 gallon of water. This gives me a safety margine if I have to later add a little water.

Alfin,
MANY parts catalogs have charts of specs, capacities, etc & some GREAT exploded views of components! When you get a NEW catalog, examine ALL the pages, you'll be SURPRISED at what you discover! Bill W.
