Spare tire cover trim clips

HI All,
does anyone reproduce the metal clips that hold the Stainless Steel trim onto the spare tire cover on the 35 Ford.? I have checked through Roy N catalogue but couldn't see anything. The mainstream suppliers don't list them as a separate item but you do get something with a new trim. I have an excellent original trim that I would like to fit to my cover.

Have you tried Restoration Supply? There are 2 companies with similar names.
Reproduction Specialties is in Pennsylvania....814-467-9842.
There is also an outfit in California with a similar name. If you can't find them send me a PM and I'll research it for you next week.

You can make your own, in the 1934 style. I made a couple for my '35.
The '34 models were connected by a special bolt and nut. The bolt had a very small, thin head, that slipped inside the S/S ring and was fastened with a nut and lock washer.
If this is confusing, try to examine a '34 tire cover.
Just find the propper size bolt and nut and grind the head down.

I took some 1/16 or 1/32? aluminum, bent it over and then back over itself, hammered it flat, into a "T" shape.

Make it the right size to fit in the slot in the cover. File to fit in the ring.

How many of the clips do you need? I have a couple of old trim rings off of what were probably 36 Deluxe spare tire covers and they still have the clips, or, at least most of the clips on them. Between the two rings, there ought to be at least one complete set.If the clips are the same as what you are seeking for the 35, they are not NOS, but should clean up and be usable. It might save some hours of fabricating.

Thanks Old and Tired, I would like to get a full set as the ones I have are very Tired! I will get back to you if I have no luck.
Mike ,yes I know what you mean. The repo trim I bought from C&G for the running boards had a similar idea but a lot larger. Fine bolts with a hex head filed down would work.
Something else to play with!
