Default 1930 Victoria leatherback inner panel rear spare tire brace

Looking for some guidance. we just purchased an 1930 Victoria leatherback and there are some issues in the rear that needs addressed. my question is there a vertical brace that connects to the chassis wood and goes up to the bottom of the rear windon directly in the center of the rear of the car? Also i am lookng for the clip that mounts to the wood that the back seat latches in. Does anyone know what that small latch is called. The read seat does have the male portion on it but is missing on the body.
thanks in advance for any help!!!

Yes there is a vertical brace that goes from the rear wood sill to the belt rail
Leatherback and steel back are different

The latches are reproduced but come and go as to availability

Call Berts Denver

Also been looking for some up close pictures of how the original rain gutter mounted and how the vinyl is tucked under it. What was on the car is aluminum. I am assuming that isn't original correct. i just subscribed to the Victoria association and will be getting some books in a few days or so. I am quite a ways from this point but was trying to gather all info. Question? after the rain gutter is installed should you be able to see any nails on the rain gutter?

Wadester, shoot me an email and I’ll forward some pictures of the leatherback gutter installation.

Actually there are two vertical braces at the rear of a leatherback, one below each side of the rear window frame. The steelback has only one, centered.
The rear spare tire supports are also different.
The seat catches are the same.

JW,
Is the center metal brace a short brace. In other word it does not go all the way up to the belt line. Mine does have a small metal brace in the center but it's only about 6" tall and looks more like a corner brace. I am assuming the other two wooden tall braces will come in the body wood kit correct?
Thanks Wade

JW,
from the looks of your pics it looks like the body wood has to assembled prior to the body being installed because it screws from the outside. is this when we adjust the cowl to get the doors to line up correctly?

Wadetser I have seen that bracket before. I wonder if they might of been used on the very early Victoria`s. and yes I assembled all the wood before final installation of the rear sheet metal. I did have the back sheet metal on & off a couple times in the process and you will need a little help. if you go that way, there is two vertical pieces of wood right behind the 1/4 windows with three screws in each. leave them off until after the rear sheet metal is on. I started by building the sub frame than lining the doors too the cowl then installing the cowl and doors on the sub frame and line it up as you go.

These photos are from the Victoria Association should give you an idea of how the wood brackets are installed and of the three types of spare tire brackets. You have the earliest one.

Thanks JW,
There has been some issues back there and will have to address them. My body number is 190A 2392 so it is pretty early. something just doesn't look right about the brace but i could be wrong . All the pictures i have seen seems to have the full brace. If you run across on let me know along with the female latch for the rear seat. we are just starting the full restoration so have a bit of time. I like the idea of installing to wood and body that way. We are carefully in the disassembling process !!!!!

The ones for the seat base are larger than the rear seat clips. At least the originals are.

The male part is fairly available its the female spring clip that is rather elusive to find sometimes.
