Re: A mouse repellent that works
I know we getting OT but we use an ultrasonic pest repellant . It wasn’t the budget model as they do not work. It simply sends ultra sonic signals through the wiring . Never had a pest since.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
How about old fashioned mouse traps? I have had good luck with them, baited with peanut butter. The ultrasonic device sounds interesting. No pun intended.

I bait the old fashioned trap with pepperoni. Good results.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
Probably not politically correct but had a friend with a shop full of really old cars that used a mixture of oatmeal and cement. Rats loved the oatmeal but then it hardened. Never tried it since it makes me cringe just thinking about what would happen.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
I've used a soda bottle with antifreeze in it with good results. Make a small hole for the mice to get in and out and be sure to fix the bottle to something with duct tape so pets can't knock it over.

I've used mothballs with good effect. Sprinkle some around, no mice, nice.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
I have seen or smelled enough cars with mothballs and the smell of mothballs combined with the smell of mouse piss and smells like barf!
Mousetraps and peanut butter are cheap! I circle my cars with traps and never have a problem! When the mouse is caught, dump in trash and its gone. Cats are great BUT you better not have any antifreeze leaks! It tastes sweet and cats and dogs will lick it up and die a slow horrible death. Again use traps instead and I also don't use poison mouse treats because they don't die instantly, but instead make it back to your car, crawl into the interior and die. |

Irish Spring Soap - one under the seat - one under the hood + one in the trunk

Re: A mouse repellent that works
5-gallon bucket partially filled with antifreeze, one or two board 'ramps' up to the rim, a half-inch diameter wood dowel on metal pins just below the rim to create a 'rolling' log with peanut butter smeared on the center of the roller. Mice go up the ramps, try to get to the peanut butter, fall off into the bucket and drown. Need to rebait my trap tomorrow and scoop out the latest round of deceased varmints.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
In my neck of the woods, the mice consider "Irish Spring" to be one of the major food groups.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
I'd suggest to use Irish Spring Soap, one bar under the hood, one under the seat & one in the trunk - that'll keep the mice from nesting in your vehicle.

Re: A mouse repellent that works
I had mice in the drawers of my tool box. Put
moth balls in the drawers and the mice built their nest out of moth balls. G.M.
